Legitimately retarded stuff
- JavaScript: Unfortunately one of the worst causes of security problems.

Criminally retarded stuff
- Subtitles on DVDs are almost always distorted and
presented in very low quality. One reason is that they seem to be
rendered onto the anamorphic picture and then get blown up during
playback. This could easily be fixed by compressing them
horizontally. Anti-aliasing would also be nice.
